The flooded river estuaries (called Rias) that dot the dramatic coastline of Galicia in the remote north-west of Spain offer access to a lush and inviting landscape unique within the country. Even in the heat of summer, the ocean provides cooling afternoon breezes and plentiful rainfall.

The history of Albarino as a premium single variety wine only stretches back to 1985 (a blink in the history of European wine) but in this very short time it has managed to become the unchallenged white wine of Galicia and establish a global following.
